"Clad metal" refers to a metal that is fully or partially coated with another metal, and the interface of the bonding is metallurgically joined. Unlike those joined by plating or adhesives, it undergoes a composite process. As a result, it possesses "composite characteristics" that allow for the acquisition of properties not previously attainable, or the complementary coverage of weaknesses in opposing properties.
